A warm breeze and a trace of salty air, beautiful views and enchanting heat. I asked our vendor-of-the-month Andres Cardona, to share with me 3 of his favorite venues in the Colombian Coast.
Andres is based in Barranquilla, Colombia and is one of the best wedding planners of the region. With the experience of many weddings under his belt, Cartagena, Santa Marta and his home town of Barranquilla, he knows his way through the Colombian coast. These three cities are just about an hour and half away from each other, and all 3, just steps away from an ocean view. Barranquilla is usually not the first choice for an out-of-towner to choose as a wedding destination, but Andres’ pick is certainly a great choice for this Colombian booming city.
Barranquilla:
Castillo de Loto
Located in the area of Puerto Colombia of Barranquilla.

Over looking the ocean, ideal for a ceremony that starts in the afternoon, leading to a beautiful sunset.

Santa Marta:
Casa Quinta
An antique hacienda where Simon Bolivar is said to have spent his last days. A historical landmark in Latin American history can today host the wedding of your dreams.
This location is ideal between November and March when the breeze is a little cooler than usual.

Cartagena:
Hotel Santa Clara.
This one is a classic location in Cartagena, the beautiful Sofitel Hotel in the walled city. The hotel offers beautiful colonial rooms that are perfect for a ceremony or reception. The architecture of this former convent makes for unforgettable wedding pictures.

Now that we know where we want our wedding, Andres give us 3 tips to make the process as smooth as possible:
- Know how much you want to spend
- As a couple, know what your likes and dis-likes are, defined identity
- TRUST your wedding planner
